A UK citizen born in Beirut and raised in Sierra Leone, Soraya has experienced conflict both as a citizen and as a professional through her work in Afghanistan, South Sudan and Iraq. A strong advocate and supporter of responsible business practice, she has contributed articles on the subject on a number of recognized journals, such as forced Migration review and she consults regularly with officials in the countries of operations where she advises on Aid Funded Projects and Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
Soraya has run businesses in West Africa, the UK, the Middle East and prior to her current position, she worked as a United Nations Programme Officer for UNDP in Afghanistan. Soraya was selected as one of the most influential women leaders by Arabian Business in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
